1st Day of Tsagaan Sar

A group of us went to Lotus to spend some time at the Bayanzurich house known as the baby house where the younger children live and also a few of the young people with special needs.  It was so nice to see the kids with the volunteers getting special individual attention.  It was a small group so it was easy to make sure everyone was having the time they deserve.  In such a big orphanage its hard at times for all the kids to get attention especially the children who are so placid and easy going.  There were lots of cuddles, giggles and fun all round.  Also the vegetarian buuz and salty tea deserves a mention!

After Lotus, Liz and I were invited to spend time at our neighbour's house to celebrate Tsagaan Sar...

Buuz! Buuz! Buuz!  Chunks of meat & Russian salads and shots of gin and vodka chased by seabuckthorn juice and salty tea.
